8 Days Tour from Agadir
Duration
Group size
Your 7 Days Tour from Agadir begins with a beautiful journey north along Morocco's Atlantic coast toward Essaouira. Leaving Agadir, you'll travel through changing coastal landscapes and areas filled with the argan trees for which southwestern Morocco is famous.
After arriving in Essaouira, begin exploring its UNESCO-listed medina. Unlike the busier medinas of Morocco's larger cities, Essaouira has a relaxed atmosphere, with whitewashed buildings, blue doors, small galleries, artisan workshops, and narrow streets leading toward the ocean.
Continue to the traditional fishing harbor, where rows of distinctive blue boats create one of the city's most recognizable scenes. You can then walk along the historic Skala fortifications and enjoy sweeping views across the Atlantic.
The remainder of the afternoon is free for wandering through the medina, relaxing at a café, or walking beside the beach before enjoying your first evening in Essaouira.
Distance: Approximately 175 km.
After breakfast, enjoy a little more time in Essaouira before leaving the Atlantic coast and traveling inland toward Marrakech. The journey passes through rural landscapes and areas known for their argan trees before reaching the plains surrounding the Red City.
After arriving in Marrakech, settle into your riad or hotel and begin discovering the historic center at a relaxed pace. You can wander through sections of the medina, explore traditional markets, and experience the maze of narrow streets filled with workshops selling leather goods, lanterns, textiles, spices, and handmade crafts.
Toward the evening, head to the famous Jemaa el-Fna Square. As sunset approaches, the square becomes increasingly lively, with food stalls, musicians, merchants, and visitors gathering in the heart of the old city.
The evening is yours to enjoy Marrakech's restaurants, cafés, rooftop terraces, or the atmosphere of the medina.
Distance: Approximately 180 km.
Today is completely dedicated to discovering Marrakech, giving you plenty of time to explore without another intercity journey.
Begin with some of the city's most important historical attractions, such as Bahia Palace and the impressive Koutoubia Mosque. Depending on your interests, you can continue to the Saadian Tombs or visit one of Marrakech's famous gardens.
Spend part of the day exploring deeper into the medina and its traditional souks. Different sections historically specialized in particular crafts, and you'll encounter everything from colorful textiles and ceramics to metalwork, leather products, spices, and traditional Moroccan lamps.
Take time for lunch at a local restaurant or rooftop terrace before continuing your exploration. Later, return toward Jemaa el-Fna, where the atmosphere changes considerably as evening approaches.
Having an entire day in Marrakech allows you to enjoy its landmarks and street life without rushing before tomorrow's journey across the Atlas Mountains.
After breakfast, leave Marrakech and travel toward the High Atlas Mountains. The road gradually climbs from the plains into increasingly dramatic mountain scenery, passing traditional villages and viewpoints along the way.
Cross the famous Tizi n'Tichka Pass before descending toward the landscapes of southern Morocco. Your main destination along the route is Ait Ben Haddou, one of the country's most celebrated historic sites.
Explore the UNESCO-listed fortified village, walking through its narrow passages and traditional earthen buildings. Climbing toward the upper sections rewards you with panoramic views across the surrounding valley and arid landscape.
Ait Ben Haddou has also served as a filming location for numerous international movies and television productions, adding another dimension to its historic importance.
After your visit, continue the short journey to Ouarzazate, often described as the gateway to Morocco's desert regions.
Distance: Approximately 200 km.
Today offers a slower exploration of the landscapes surrounding Ouarzazate. After breakfast, travel east toward Skoura, one of southern Morocco's most attractive palm oases.
The Skoura Oasis is filled with palm groves, cultivated fields, small villages, and traditional earthen kasbahs. Its quieter atmosphere provides an interesting contrast to Marrakech and gives you a closer look at rural life in southern Morocco.
One of the area's best-known landmarks is Kasbah Amridil, a beautifully preserved historic kasbah surrounded by palm trees and agricultural land. Spend time exploring the area and learning about the traditional architecture that developed in this part of Morocco.
After visiting Skoura, return toward Ouarzazate. Depending on your interests and available time, the afternoon can include Taourirt Kasbah or the city's famous film studios before enjoying another relaxed evening.
Distance: Approximately 85 km.
After breakfast, begin the return journey toward Morocco's Atlantic coast. Rather than retracing the road through Marrakech, today's route travels west through the landscapes of the Anti-Atlas and the Souss region.
Pass through Taznakht, a town particularly associated with Amazigh carpets and traditional weaving. From here, continue toward Taliouine, located in an area famous throughout Morocco for producing saffron.
The road offers changing scenery throughout the journey, from rocky southern landscapes and mountain areas to greener agricultural plains as you approach the Souss Valley.
There will be opportunities for stops along the way to stretch your legs, enjoy the scenery, or have lunch before continuing toward Agadir.
Arrive back in Agadir later in the afternoon or early evening and settle into your accommodation for a relaxed final night.
Distance: Approximately 350 km.
The final day of your 7 Days Tour from Agadir is kept relaxed, giving you time to enjoy the coastal city before your departure.
You can spend the morning walking along Agadir's wide beachfront promenade or relaxing beside the Atlantic Ocean. Another option is to visit the Agadir Oufella area, which provides impressive panoramic views across the modern city, harbor, coastline, and surrounding landscape.
You may also explore the marina, visit Souk El Had for local products and crafts, or simply enjoy a leisurely lunch near the waterfront.
Keeping the final day free of long-distance driving makes the end of the journey considerably more comfortable. Depending on your departure arrangements, you'll have free time before your transfer to Agadir Airport or another location in the city, bringing your seven-day Moroccan journey to an end.
This seven-day itinerary has been designed to combine several of Morocco’s most recognizable destinations without forcing a rushed journey all the way to the Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga. Essaouira and Marrakech provide two very different city experiences, while the second half of the journey focuses on the High Atlas Mountains and the traditional architecture and landscapes of southern Morocco.
Day 6 between Ouarzazate and Agadir is the longest transfer of the tour at approximately 350 km, so an earlier departure is recommended. Stops can be made around Taznakht and Taliouine to divide the journey and make the drive more enjoyable. The rest of the itinerary includes significantly shorter transfers, along with a complete sightseeing day in Marrakech and a relaxed final day in Agadir.
