Chefchaouen Private Day Trip from Fes
Group size
Your private Ourika Valley day trip begins with a morning pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech, usually around 9:00 AM. Your professional driver will take you southeast toward the High Atlas Mountains in a comfortable, air-conditioned private vehicle.
The journey passes through the beautiful Moroccan countryside, where you will discover traditional Amazigh villages, green valleys, agricultural terraces, and mountain landscapes. Along the way, you can enjoy short stops for photographs and panoramic views of the surrounding scenery.
As you travel deeper into the valley, you can make an optional stop at a traditional argan oil cooperative to learn about the production of argan oil and its importance in Moroccan culture.
Continue toward Setti Fatma, a small mountain village located beside the Ourika River. The village is known for its riverside restaurants, natural landscapes, and access to the famous Setti Fatma waterfalls.
Upon arrival, you will have free time to explore the village and its surroundings. Visitors who enjoy hiking can take an optional guided walk toward the waterfalls. The trail includes rocky paths, steep sections, and uneven terrain, so suitable walking shoes and reasonable physical fitness are recommended.
If you prefer a more relaxing experience, you can spend your time beside the river, enjoy the mountain atmosphere, visit small local shops, or take photographs of the beautiful surroundings.
At lunchtime, you can choose a traditional Moroccan restaurant along the river. Many restaurants offer outdoor seating beside the flowing water, where you can enjoy dishes such as tagine, grilled meats, couscous, and fresh Moroccan salads.
After lunch, you will have additional free time to explore the village, relax beside the river, or admire the surrounding Atlas Mountains.
In the afternoon, usually around 4:00 PM, you will meet your private driver for the return journey to Marrakech. Arrival at your accommodation is generally around 5:30 to 6:00 PM, depending on traffic, stops, and your preferred schedule.
Distance: Approximately 65 km each way to Setti Fatma.
Driving time: Approximately 1.5–2 hours each way.
Ourika Valley is a popular destination throughout the year. Spring is particularly beautiful because the valley becomes greener, and the surrounding mountains often have flowing streams and waterfalls.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, especially if you plan to hike toward the Setti Fatma waterfalls. Some trails include slippery rocks, steep paths, and uneven surfaces.
Bring Moroccan dirhams for lunch, drinks, optional activities, and personal expenses. Many local restaurants and small shops prefer cash payments.
The weather in the Atlas Mountains can be cooler than Marrakech, especially during winter and early spring. Bringing a light jacket is recommended.
The waterfalls hike is optional and requires reasonable physical fitness. Visitors who prefer not to hike can enjoy the riverside restaurants and beautiful mountain scenery.
Avoid hiking near the river or waterfalls during heavy rainfall or when flash flooding is possible. Always follow local safety advice.
